Free, multi-device two-factor authentication that's easy enough for the whole family.
Visit Authy →Authy adds a critical second layer of protection beyond your passwords, and unlike many authenticator apps it supports encrypted backups and multiple devices, so you're never locked out if you lose your phone. It's the app we recommend as most families' first step into 2FA.
Search for “Authy” in the iOS App Store or Google Play and install the Twilio Authy app.
Turn on encrypted backups and set a backup password different from anything else you use — write it down. This lets you recover your codes if you lose your phone.
Go to a site you use — Gmail, Instagram, or your bank — open its security settings, find Two-Factor Authentication, choose “Authenticator App,” and scan the QR code with Authy.
Log out of the site, log back in, and when prompted for a code, open Authy and enter the 6-digit code shown.
Repeat the setup for every important account: email, bank, Amazon, social media, and your password manager.
For redundancy, install Authy on a tablet or computer and enable multi-device support in Settings > Devices.
